Christmas Trees, Decorations, Shopping For Gifts and Joy

By David Arnold Livingston

As soon as December rolls in and snow starts falling, one can already sniff that undeniable Christmas air. Christmas...ahh. The word itself evokes all the happiest emotions, for isn't it this the happiest time of the year? Love is as its greatest, generosity at its fullest and mankind at its best. Truly, there is no room for selfishness and loneliness during the Yuletide season.

So don't be a Scrooge come Christmas time. If you want to make the most out of this holiday season, read this article for tips that can guarantee you a very merry Christmas.

1. Bring the Christmas tree in!

You know it is already Christmas when people start going out to hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. So don't put this fun activity off. Enjoy the season by asking your whole family to troop to the store and go crazy over the tall pine trees!

2. Decorate away!

Christmas balls, lanterns, pointsettias, Christmas wreaths, Santa Claus and Frosty the Snowman figurines and other holiday trinkets -- embellish your house with all these decorating materials! Go ahead and decorate the tree and see the holiday spirit in your Christmas tree with that Bethlehem star on top. Decorating the Christmas tree a couple of weeks before the big day extends the joy!

3. Don't forget your Christmas shout-outs!

Get yourself truckloads of Christmas greeting cards, add some personal touch and send them to your family and friends all over the world. There is nothing like spreading the love on Christmas time! If you want to go more personal, make the card yourself!

4. Dress up like Santa!

Yes! Be the Santa Claus for your sons and daughters, nieces and nephews! Don a Santa Claus costume, do the ho-ho-ho and for sure, your family will get a kick out of it. And of course, love you for it!

5. Listen to Christmas carols and sing along!

What is your favorite Christmas song? Sing it out loud! Listen to it over and over again! Welcome the carollers to your home. Let their angelic voices waft in the air!

6. Head to the mall!

One way to get into the holiday spirit is by heading to the nearest Christmas-themed mall. Cheer yourself up with all the gigantic and stellar decorations and while you're at it, you might as well shop!

7. Shop for Christmas gifts!

Make sure you have a list of what gifts to buy before going to the mall. The gifts never have to be pricey. Just make sure everyone you love gets something nice. Wrap them up in the cutest Christmas wrappers and don't forget the tags!

8. Visit an orphanage or any charitable institution.

"Give love on Christmas Day," Michael Jackson says in a song. What can be more meaningful than a trip to a charitable institution in your town. Spread the love! Cheer them up! Make them feel special! You will feel so Christmassy in an instant. Trust me.

9. Pay homage to the Celebrant.

You should know why Christmas is being celebrated - it's the birth of Christ. Whatever your religion is, don't forget to say thanks.

Do all of the following and you will feel so lighthearted and happy. You will finally achieve that fuzzy, heartwarming feeling that definitely signifies it is already Christmas time
